About Us

Bridging Educational Inequity

The Education Bridge Initiative is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to bridging educational inequity by collecting books and raising funds, then connecting those resources with underserved schools and nonprofit organizations around the world.

Our Story

Why This Matters

Educational inequality determines whose potential is cultivated and whose future is restricted — it creates a society where opportunity is unevenly distributed. Denying communities strong educational resources means denying them power, voice, and the ability to shape their own futures.

Every child deserves the chance to rise on their own terms, not be held back by circumstances they never chose. That belief is the foundation of everything we do — from a single book donation to a schoolyard book drive on the other side of the world.

The Problem We're Addressing

Unequal Access, Global Reach

Millions of students around the world lack access to basic educational resources — books, materials, and funding that many take for granted. This gap in access widens over time, compounding into a gap in opportunity.

The Education Bridge Initiative exists to close that distance: gathering gently used books and donations here, and routing them — through trusted partners — to the schools and communities that need them most.

Founder's Note

Started by a student who believes access shouldn't be a privilege

The Education Bridge Initiative was founded by Salma Khalifa on a simple conviction: that education is a right, not a privilege determined by geography or circumstance. What began as a student-led effort to collect books and raise funds has grown into a bridge — connecting willing donors here with schools and communities that need resources most.

Under Salma's leadership, the Initiative partners with established organizations like Books Between Kids and Room to Read to make sure every donation reaches students effectively and responsibly.
